Deconstructing Couple’s Therapy: Ethical Approach to Gender Inequity & Its Impact on Mental Health
Facilitated by Lisa Sherper, LICSW, LCSW, LCSW-C and Lisa Kays, LICSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, Lisa Kays PLLC invites you to attend this course that explores the role of ethics in couple’s therapy. The workshop references recent research regarding gender imbalances in couple’s therapy and the tendency of therapists to uphold that imbalance despite the mandate of the NASW Code of Ethics regarding our role to support social justice, do no harm, uphold the dignity and worth of the person, self-determination, and cultural competence. Participants will be invited to explore their own feelings, reactions, attitudes and beliefs as relates to working with heterosexual couples.
