Robyn is a pre-licensed social worker in Virginia (LMSW), Washington, D.C. (LGSW), and Maryland (LMSW) working under the supervision of Lisa Kays, LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSW.
Robyn works with couples, teens 14+, and adults. Robyn is White, cis, straight, and identifies as female.

Robyn takes a relational approach to therapy, taking time to build a strong therapeutic alliance with each client. She meets clients wherever they are in their healing process and seeks to empower them to discover their strengths and develop healthy approaches to address challenges in their lives. Robyn believes therapy is a partnership, not a dictatorship! If you’re looking for an engaging, responsive therapist who doesn’t “just sit there,” Robyn’s approach might be a good fit!

Robyn has experience working with clients ages 7 to 80 in both private practice and community settings. Her primary focus is supporting couples, teens, and adults facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Robyn has worked with many queer clients and couples and also has expertise in high-masking autism.

Robyn offers clients a tailored treatment experience, customized for each person’s unique needs. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and has completed Level 2 couples therapy training through the Gottman Institute. Her therapeutic approach also includes elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), and solution-focused therapy.

Robyn holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science from Swarthmore College. She continued her education at the Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in clinical practice.
Robyn’s post-graduate training includes:
Advanced training in the Gottman Method: Couples Therapy, Levels 1 and 2; Affairs and Trauma; Addiction Recovery from the Gottman Institute
Advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) from the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy
Training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) from Bonnie Weiss, LCSW
Certificate in the Fundamentals of Parenting Coordination from the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts
Additional training in neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ issues
